After a quick breakfast with Triin and Jeff (at last we didn’t want to miss the bus) the 2h long ride from Amherst via Springfield to Boston started. After arriving there we firstly had to eat something and, yeah, also Julia and I sometimes go to McDonalds. And I must say, it was really good.
Starched again we made tracks. Across Chinatown and the city parc where we saw the Boston Common monument we made our way to Beacon Hill, a nice and very expensive neighborhood. You can see the british influence everywhere there (like in whole Boston and New England). Small and red brick clinkered houses, really cute. But we didn’t understand why you have the highest rents or purchase prices in the whole US…
Well, we walked on with direction Charles River on which banks we strolled. It was damn cold and the wind icy but so nice.
Finally we decided to look first for our hostel to get a little bit warmer again… No sooner said than done, we found the hostel very quickly and so we checked our 6 bed bedroom. Everything seemed to be fine, we even both got a pair of flip flops for free. After a short while we went out again. At last we wanted to see the stadium of the Boston Red Sox baseball team, the “Fenway Park”. Unfortunately they were in Los Angeles for an away game at that weekend so we couldn’t attend one of their matches☹
After a short stop to buy me some gloves we made a walk to Fenway Park . Well, the outside appearance was really dull and even the fan shop was already closed. But hey, there’s even Sunday we have time to go there.
So we looked for a place to have dinner. We would have liked to go to the Mexican restaurant but it was so full that we decided to try the greek one next door. And that was a very good decision. Delicious food for $20 both was really nothing to complain about!
Afterwards we went back to the hostel. And after a few minutes the door opened and who came in… two lovely Russian girls. You can imagine we both were so happy☺
After chatting for a long time we decided to get a bit of sleep so that we’ll be fit for Harvard tomorrow ☺
